Kisii Soapstone Elephant Figurine / Mini Colorful Statue

Add a little color and good luck to your space with this handmade Kisii soapstone elephant figurine. Each elephant is carved by hand from a single piece of smooth soapstone, with a rounded body, sturdy legs, and a trunk raised high. In many cultures a raised trunk is seen as a sign of good fortune, which makes this small elephant a popular gift.

Kisii soapstone is a soft, smooth stone from the Kisii highlands of western Kenya, long known for its skilled carvers. The stone is polished to a silky, cool finish and then decorated with simple engraved patterns such as suns, swirls, leaves, and lines. Choose from bright colors including green, yellow, orange, light blue, blue, purple, magenta, and classic black.

The figurine is small enough for a desk, shelf, windowsill, or bookcase, and it looks great in a group of several colors. It is also a fun gift for children, collectors, animal lovers, and travelers. It is made for display, not for play with small children who might put it in their mouths. Each elephant is hand-carved and finished by hand, so color, size, and engraving vary slightly from piece to piece.
